This is the ninth edition of "Paterson's Sick Children". This is not a reproduction, not a reprint, not a digital print ... this is an authentic vintage book from 1971. The volume was published in London, England by Bailliere, Tindall and Cassell. The first edition was in 1930, so that means that Paterson's Sick Children was revised and updated roughly every 4 years, which attests to the speed of advance of medical knowledge of the time. This was originally written by Dr. Donald H. Paterson, and editions from the 1960s and this one from 1971 were revised and updated by Doctors Reginald Lightwood, Frederic Brimblecombe, and Donald Barltrop. As a pediatric medicine textbook, this was intended "as a working manual for the medical student, the postgraduate undergoing pediatric training and the practising doctor". The hard cover volume is in good condition, and it appears to have once been a library copy of the Lewis Library of Princeton University. All 795 well illustrated pages are intact, and there are no rips, stains, or problems, and there is a very minor bit of pencil notations and writing on the perimeter of some pages. The hard cover shows some wear, and the binding is secure and intact. The thick and heavy hard cover book buy measures about 9" by 6" by 1 3/4" thick. It weighs an impressive 3 1/2 pounds. In good condition.
